What is Cancer of the Pancreas?
Cancer of the pancreas begins when cells within the pancreas develop certain genetic mutations. These abnormal mutations cause rapid and uncontrolled cell growth and these abnormal or diseased cells continue to live long after normal healthy cells would have died naturally. This large accumulation of cells can lead to the formation of a tumor within the pancreas itself, and here is where the first signs may appear.
