Political Downturn As Thailand Tourism Accelerates
Thailand recently won a prestigious award from Travel News, an independent Swedish travel trade tourist magazine. The 'Grand Travel Award' was presented to Mr. Manit Boonchim, a Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) representative, at The Grand Stockholm Hotel in February 2009. This honor is considered to be the tourism equivalent of the Oscars, and Thailand has won it for eight consecutive years in the 'world's best country' category.
