Avoid so called illegal or bad sites. Programs have become so sophisticated you only need to open one of these web pages and you will have a virus or spyware. If your anti-virus program has expired you are not protected. You MUST activate it, update it and then run a full scan of your system. If your Virus protection program doesn't find anything after scanning it has probably been hacked. Check to see if your computer has its own recovery procedure. Further reading ...
